It was a difficult decision to begin a new chapter in life by moving from Long Island to Western New Jersey. I was leaving a vibrant community of students, teachers and friends cultivated over many years.

It is sometimes in letting go of something that you realize just how deeply connected we become and how far along our paths we journey together.

Below are a few excerpts from letters I received from students, fellow teachers and program directors.

I am a certified Esalen Institute Massage Practitioner, and have studied energy and spiritual healing, and various form of bodywork and body-mind oriented therapies. I actually use the qigong exercises and tai chi before an audition, and while I’m waiting in the wings before I go on stage to perform. It’s amazing how these exercises help to center and ground me and give me the ability to concentrate even more. Sometimes, when I may feel stressed about a particular situation, my husband will actually turn to me and say, “What would Judi say about this?” He has never met Judi, but knows about her from my enthusiastic descriptions of my classes with her. – Stacey Wallace

Judi Hason and I trained together under the tutelage of Master Yun Xiang Tseng, a priest from Purple Cloud Temple in Wu Dang Mountain, Hubei Provence, China. We took classes in Tai Chi, Qigong, Meditation and Taoist Philosophy for ten years. When Master Tseng moved to Colorado, Judi Hason became our teacher. She was chosen by Master Tseng as the only person allowed to take notes in each class. He proclaimed that she would be a teacher some day.

For many years, Judi taught fourteen classes a week on Long Island, which included both Nassau and Suffolk Counties. She has continued her studies and has been certified by Dr. Paul Lam to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis, Tai Chi for Diabetes and Tai Chi for Osteoporosis. Judi is an ordained Taoist Priest and a Medical Qigong Therapist….

Judi is always sharing knowledge about the Histories of these forms. This visual that it creates, allows us to focus on how each movement should be performed. Her classes of students are very dedicated to her as she is to them…. Thanks to Judi, we have insights into self-healing, philosophy, health and more… She will be missed by many here on Long Island, but with an understanding that new beginnings are sometimes necessary when we feel that inner calling. – Patty Marubbio

One morning in Tai Chi/Qigong class, someone asked if we could go around the room and each talk about the benefits we have seen from our study and practice. Not wanting to take time away from learning, I suggested everyone submit short statements to me by the next class. I would then collect and hand them back as a collection of writings at the end of the semester.

It is with delight and warmth in my heart that I present these excerpts for everyone to read and enjoy. And it is my great honor to pass along the sacred and healing teachings of ancient China. Each class teaches me as well.
